What is Mediation? In mediation, we help families to be heard and work through their differences by providing a neutral and sheltered forum for conversation. The purpose of open discussion is to find common ground rather than force involuntary agreements or misunderstanding. I learn about the "triggers" of your conflict in order to help deescalate the situation. I also listen closely to your goals for negotiation to help you create solutions that will work in real life. How Does it Work? Safe2Speak® helps you to communicate your differences from a neutral position, surfacing the tensions that exist when people are in conflict. Through the evolving stories that you share, and through a better understanding of the beliefs and assumptions that are behind those stories, we are able to find common solutions to difficult problems. We help you to negotiate a productive solution to the conflict so that you can move forward. The professional mediation skills of Safe2Speak® allow the process to be driven forward through conflict rather than get bogged down in it.
